Hickory, NC- The Crawdads, playing as their Llamas de Hickory Latin-inspired identity, dropped a 4-2 decision to the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Tuesday night at LP Frans Stadium, opening a 13-game homestand that spans the next will take two weeks.

Konner Piotto drove in both runs in the fourth inning with a counter field single to left, scoring Yeison Morrobel and Quincy Scott. Morrobel opened the frame with the club’s first goal of the game, while Scott followed with a double to right centerfield.

The bullpen for Hickory was solid again, as the trio of Jackson Kelly, Adrian Rodriguez and Gavin Collyer surrendered two hits in five innings, allowing a run in the ninth inning to close out the scoring for both teams.

The Crawdads will play their third Education Day presented by Dippin’ Dots game of the season tomorrow at 11 a.m. as Ryan Lobus takes the mound for Hickory vs Greensboro. It is also an OrthoCarolina Senior Day. The game will be broadcast on MiLB.TV, the Bally Live app, with an audio feed available at at 10:45 a.m.
