Delaware man charged with organized theft from multiple Lowe’s stores

Lewes, DE – Delaware State Police have taken Augustine Haymond, 44, of Smyrna, Delaware, into custody for shoplifting and related crimes. In response to a shoplifting incident on Sunday at Lowe’s in Lewes, troopers located and arrested Haymond near the store after a brief search. Haymond, the suspect identified by store employees, was found in possession of stolen items and illegal substances.

Further investigation revealed that Augustine Haymond had previously attacked a Lowe’s store in New Castle in the past using similar theft methods.

Authorities discovered stolen merchandise, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in his possession, leading to multiple charges. Haymond was transported to Troop 7, treated for the listed crimes and later arraigned on an $11,500 unsecured bond.

The charges against Augustine Haymond of Smyrna include possession of shoplifters’ tools (misdemeanor), failure to comply with bond conditions (misdemeanor), theft – organized retail crime and several other offenses.
